These are very simple to make and so delicious! Perfect with a nice cup of tea. Make sure you leave your biscuits to cool before adding the jam.
60g Caster Sugar
230g Plain Flour
In a bowl beat the butter and sugar together until smooth. Then stir in the flour and mix until well combined. Knead to a ball, wrap in cling film and leave in the fridge for a minimum of 1 hour.
Pre-heat the oven at 190C (gas mark 5) and line baking trays with baking paper. Once you have removed the dough from the fridge, roll it out onto a floured surface to the thickness of roughly 1cm. Using biscuit heart shaped cutters, cut out heart shapes. Leave half of the hearts as they are then with the rest, use a smaller heart shaped cutter to remove a heart from the middle.
Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from the oven and leave for 2 minutes on the baking tray then place the biscuits on a cooling rack to cool.
Once cooled, spread a tsp of jam over the bottom of the whole heart biscuits, then place the Heart biscuits with a heart hole on top.
