I am trying to avoid buying so many snacks when out shopping, to replace my sweet cravings and to make them healthier I have come up with this very simple yet absolutely delicious recipe. It might be a good way to get fruit into your children too. When you add the sugar it tastes like toffee apples but much easier to eat.

Crispy Apple Thins

Ingredients

2 Gala Apples (Or any eating apple of your choosing)

1 tsp Cinnamon

1 tsp Granulated sugar (If you want them a bit sweeter)

Method

Pre heat the oven at 140⁰C, gas mark 1. Slice the apples as thin as you can, if you have one then use a mandolin, thinner the better. Remove all seeds or use an apple corer, the apple thins are prettier if you don’t core them. Put baking paper on a baking tray and evenly place the sliced apple. In a cup mix together the sugar and cinnamon then sprinkle over the sliced apple. Just sprinkle the cinnamon straight onto the apple if you are not adding the sugar. Place in the pre heated oven and bake for 3 hours or until crisp, turning them over half way. The crisper they are the better they will be.
