I have had a few people ask how to make a simple white sauce. I use this white sauce in lasagne, cauliflower cheese and pasta dishes. It is so quick and simple and you can add cheese, herbs, spices etc to give it a different flavour.

So here it is:


Simple White Sauce


500ml Milk

4 Heaped tbsp Plain Flour

A large tbsp Butter


Pour the milk, flour and butter into a pan and place on a medium to high heat. Soon as most of the butter has melted, start whisking. Whisk continuously until the mixture has thickened. This takes around 5 minutes. Just keep whisking until it has thickened. Remove from heat, stir in any herbs, spices etc that you want to add then pour it onto your dish.
