How many of you have boxes of your children’s art stored in cupboards or in the loft? We have bags of random bits of paper that the children have painted or sketched on that I can not bare to throw away. Wouldn’t it be fantastic if there was a way of not having boxes of art work around the house but also being able to look at your child’s precious creations at any time. Children’s Art Galleries have solved the problem.
Dean Burnage is the man behind this fantastic idea. He has come up with a website where you can upload photos of your children’s art work. It will then be placed into its own online gallery where people worldwide can appreciate the beautiful piece of work.
Why Art Is Important For Children
Art is highly important for a child’s development. One major thing it helps with is fine moto skills. Being able to draw with a crayon or cut with scissors has been proven to help with dexterity that is required in hand writing.
Communication can also be improved through art. A child is able to express itself through drawing and painting and then they can talk to you about what they have created.
We were lucky to be sent a wonderful art box from children’s art galleries. This box was full of pens, pastels, glue, different coloured paper, stickers and these really great paint sticks.
We loved these paint sticks as the children were able to paint easily without the mess.
My 4 year old son was given the task to create a picture that showed how he was feeling. We was given a piece of paper which had various pieces of famous artwork on. We went through and spoke about what emotion the image showed and then discussed what my son would like to draw.
He decided to draw a train going along a track. This was a happy image as he likes trains.
