Woodland walks

The beach that comes off from the park is one of the most beautiful beaches that I have ever visited, it is just breath-taking. Whenever we have families visit we always take them here as there is just so much to do and so many miles of walking. It’s also part of the Wales Coast Path, this path will eventually allow you to walk the whole of the Welsh coastline.

There is a lovely little café and several toilets positioned around the park.

A place that my son loves to visit is the woodland play park. There are two sections to this park, one being for younger children and the other being for older children. The park is large and secure so plenty of space to let the children run about without the fear of them getting lost.

If you are a wildlife enthusiast then you must visit the ponds that are around the site. There are bird hides at the ponds and the water can be so clear that you can see the wildlife that is beneath the surface of the water.

The wide open space surrounded by a large woodland creates a wonderful place to teach children about the sound an Echo makes. This video shows my son playing with his Echo.

Activity which a family can do in the park:

Treasure hunt: This is the perfect place for a really good treasure hunt. I like to make sheets which are waterproof so we can take them out time and time again. All you need is a printer and a laminator. For the treasure hunt, instead of taking items from nature to show you have found the ‘treasure’ get the children to take a photo of each object that they find.

Here is a list of things that you could put onto a treasure list for Pembrey:

Seashells

Seaweed

Pinecone

Sycamore Leaf

Beetle

Dog Walker

Cyclist
